    Herb-based Simple Sugar

    This is great for any cocktail, and a sure way to enjoy those fresh herbs in a unique way. This base recipe works in any cocktail or mocktail that calls for simple syrup. You can scale this recipe to meet your quantity of herbs. We recommend making one simple syrup per type of herb rather than combining it.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup water

    • 1 cup sugar

    • 1 cup packed herb leaves (Basil, Lavender, etc.)

    Steps:

    1. Combine water and sugar in a pot and bring to a boil.

    2. Remove from heat and add the herbs.

    3. Let herbs steep for 15 minutes, then strain into a glass jar or bottle.

    4. Refrigerate for up to one month.
