Gardening should be fun, not stressful.

It should be interesting, not boring.

Your garden should be Superior.

Hello! We’re Jen and Eric, the founders of Superior Seed Company.

We made the Superior Seed Company to make gardening a little bit easier and a lot more fun for everyone. The current gardening market has a few issues that we tried to solve.

  1. There are way too many options.

  2. The seeds and plants you can buy from the store are the same everywhere.

  3. When you buy seeds, you have to buy way more than you can ever use.

With the Superior Seed Company, you get curated collections of high quality seeds from the best seed producers. We picked out unique and awesome varieties for each collection, so you’ll have a garden full of new things to try. And finally, we stock each collection with just the right amount of seeds, so you aren’t stuck storing them for years.

Thanks for supporting our local business.

The Superior Seed Company Team

  • Jen picking sunflowers

    Jen

    FOUNDER

Jen is originally from central Wisconsin but has always been pulled toward Lake Superior. Growing up, she was always keeping busy outside doing whatever she could. She graduated from the University of Superior-Wisconsin with a Bachelor’s in Community Health Promotion and is currently pursuing a Physical Therapy Assistant Degree. Jen has coached youth girls’ basketball and softball for the past few years. When she isn’t cheering her girls on, you can find her reading a book, challenging Eric to a board game, walking the pup, or practicing a new yoga pose.

  • Eric

    FOUNDER

Eric is originally from Iowa and has slowly moved his way up north throughout the years. Growing up, he was always eager to help out around house, especially when it came to gardening. He was always on the swim team, even through college. He graduated from Grinnell College with a Bachelor’s in History and Technology Studies. As he began to move north, he leaned toward the tech side of the world. He now has a Master’s in Educational Technology Leadership and an MBA in Organizational Leadership and Change. He currently works for a technology company based in San Francisco. In his free time, you can find him gardening at home, reading a book, playing a board game, photographing the beautiful North Shore, or researching the latest and greatest tech gadget.

  • Jess and Veggies

    Jess

    GARDENING CONSULTANT

Jess is a gardener extraordinaire from Waupaca, Wisconsin. Between her cross country coaching and teaching high school English, she somehow manages to bake award-winning goods, raise a toddler and chickens, and grow a bountiful garden. She contributes to the team at Superior Seed Company with developing and testing new products, workshopping puns for the Garden Grams, and breaking ties between the founders (particularly about puns and designs).

  • The Boss

    Grace

    THE BOSS/CHIEF PRODUCE TESTER

Although new, Grace is from the area and so far, is loving it. In her free time, you can find her reading, building with magnatiles, and running around. Rosie and her like to team up on the founders and cause some trouble. She contributes to the team at Superior Seed Company by being a model in the garden, dictating our every move, and setting our schedule.

  • Theo-we-adore

    Theo

    THE INTERN/BOSS-IN-TRAINING

Theo is the newest addition to the team. Despite his lack of many teeth and his all-milk diet, he’s a major fan of the garden. He’s learning all the tips and tricks of the trade from Grace and makes sure we stay on track even when she (very rarely) naps. He’s enjoyed Minnesota summer and fall so far, and is looking forward to experiencing this thing called “winter.”

  • Rosie dog in the garden

    Rosie

    SUPERVISOR/CHIEF PRODUCE TASTER

Rosie is originally from Texas and was brought up to the north in 2019. Fortunately, she fell in love with the snow the first time she saw it. The cold on the other hand, well you can find her being a couch hog to stay cozy and warm. When she isn’t “helping” dig the garden, you can find her chasing squirrels, drinking from the hose, or sunbathing on her porch chair. Yes, she has a porch chair.

  • Stanley the Elder

    GARDEN GNOME EMERITUS

Stanley is our now retired garden gnome. While he doesn’t guard the garden anymore, his replacements are pretty competent. He provides sage advice and general garden guidance.
