What all comes in a seed kit?

Each seed kit comes with ten varieties of seeds, with five seeds per variety. Each variety is handpacked into an individual envelope. The kit also includes a printed sheet with detailed growing instructions for each plant.

Why are there only 5 of each seed? Wouldn’t more make sense?

There are a few key reasons to this: simplicity, proper spacing, and value.

1. For our customers, we didn’t want to have a bunch of complicated options to have to choose between, so each kit is based on the same number of seeds and varieties.

2. One of the biggest missteps by gardeners is neglecting proper spacing, particularly in smaller gardens. With fewer overall plants, you don’t feel pressure to jam them all in. 

3. One of our main goals is bringing you a wide variety of new plants in a single kit. Every extra seed we put in pushes the costs up, so we tried to maximize your value per kit. We do recognize that 5 carrot seeds is a different output than 5 tomato seeds, but encourage you to think of this as a sampler pack to find what you like. (However, keep your eyes peeled for some future products for those seeds you’ll want a bumper crop of!)

Isn’t $5 for shipping pretty expensive?

Unfortunately, it’s actually pretty cheap! While we’re all pretty used to free shipping offered by Amazon and other massive companies, shipping is still an expense. Our $5 shipping charge should cover most of our cost of shipping your orders. We also had the option of embedding it into our price, but wanted to keep our products as affordable as possible.

If you are local to the Duluth area, our products are going to be sold in a few local shops. We are also working on a local pickup option as well.
